Helping women advance their careers through business education is one of the passions that drives us here at Ellin Lolis Consulting. In honor of International Women’s Day and all the #girlbosses out there, we’re outlining top programs for women to pursue their MBAs.
Traditionally, MBA programs have been dominated by men, but in recent years business schools have put a lot of effort into increasing the number of women in their programs.
The Forté Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports women in business education and as executives, has partnered with 50 business schools. According to a 2015 report issued by the Forté Foundation, more than 12 US-based business schools now report 40% or more women enrolled in their programs, a 4% jump.
Data from the Graduate Management Admission Council supports this trend, stating that 75 percent of large full-time, two-year MBA programs saw an increase in the number of women from 2015 to 2016. The report also stated that large, full-time, two-year MBA programs were more likely to see an increase in the number of women and international students than are small programs.
